GEONTAE SIMPSON
CLASS OF 2028
POST
I was born in the Bahamas on the island of Nassau, New Providence. As a child, my life was filled with love and support from family and friends. My mom always wanted me to be active and kept me in the sports. Sports always kept me focused and away from bad influences. At age 3 I played soccer and then Judo and then I started swimming competitively. None of those sports made me feel complete. One day my mom and dad finally allowed me to play basketball and instantly I fell in love with the sport.
In Nassau, basketball is a “boys” sport; girls playing basketball is not priority so my mom felt very skeptical about me playing the sport, but as I played, and she saw my the love I started to develop for the game she them allowed me to play. My advancement in the game an my desire to pursue college basketball led me to Finest Basketball Cresset. I joined this organization because of their college recruitment development process and love of Christ Finest Basketball shares with my team and I daily. Our program is amazing and I know with them behind me, I will get the training I need in order to pursue the sport at the collegiate level. My goal is to one day play at a top D1 college, while perusing a degree in law or psychology.
