My name is Madalyn Jestine Pass (MJ) and I am 13 years old. I was born in Raleigh North Carolina. How I got into basketball is interesting because I didn’t start at a young age like 3,4,5 years old like most people I know who play and no one in my family plays basketball. One thing….I was always an athletic kid, I loved being outside, and I always wanted to play sports (especially basketball). Eventually I asked my mom if I could play basketball and here I am now. So I really started playing at 11 years old. My parents allowed me to play on a rec team and saw that I was learning really fast and was pretty good.

My mom asked me if I really wanted to play for real…like did I have a goal or dream. And I said to play college basketball and to play in the WNBA…..That’s my dream. What brought me to Finest Basketball Cresset was that our family found a christian based organization that provided and opportunity to enhance my skills as an 8th grader. I also had an opportunity to play with elite players who are in high school so I could get that experience before I go to high school. I hope that I make it pro and play at the highest level of basketball. Even though I started pretty late I am thankful that God gave me a talent to use and I am hardworking and dedicated to making my dream come true.
